Is a C-section painful? How is it different from a normal delivery?

A normal delivery is a natural delivery without the help of anesthesia in which there are contractions that help the cervix dilate so that the baby can be delivered. A normal delivery treatment may be more painful than a C-section but it is natural and women have had normal deliveries since the beginning of time.

What can I expect during a normal delivery?

In a normal delivery or a natural delivery, there will be contractions of the muscles that allow the cervix to dilate. You will be asked to push to deliver the baby.

What is an epidural pain reliever?

An epidural is a pain reliever during the time of delivery and labour. An Epidural keeps you awake while relieving the pain of delivery and assists with your contractions.
